Where Is Capital Smart City Located?

To understand the location of Capital Smart City properly, it is important to know that the project is divided into three different phases, and each phase has its own location and access route.

Capital Smart City Phase 1 and Phase 2 are both located directly along the M-2 Motorway. The project has its own dedicated interchange, known as the Capital Smart City Interchange, situated between the Thalian Interchange and the Chakri Interchange.

When travelling from Islamabad towards Lahore on the M-2 Motorway, you first cross the Thalian Interchange. The next major interchange you reach is the Capital Smart City Interchange.

Phase 1 is located on one side of the motorway, while Phase 2 is situated directly across the motorway on the opposite side. DHA Gandhara is also located behind the Phase 2 side, making this area an important future real estate and development corridor.

Now, let us look at Phase 1 in more detail.

The front side of Capital Smart City Phase 1 faces the M-2 Motorway, while its rear side connects with Chakri Road. Chakri Road is a major route connecting Rawalpindi with the Chakri Interchange and stretches for approximately 20 to 25 kilometres.

Phase 1 is currently the most developed part of Capital Smart City. Its location between the motorway and Chakri Road provides it with access from both sides. Across the motorway from Phase 1 lies Capital Smart City Phase 2.

The location of Phase 3, however, is completely different.

To reach Phase 3, you need to return to the Thalian Interchange and travel towards Islamabad International Airport through the Cargo Road. As soon as you reach the airport area, a road turns towards the left, leading directly to the Capital Smart City Phase 3 site.

Phase 3 is located very close to Islamabad International Airport. The site is currently under construction and remains in its pre-launch stage, as its official launch has not yet taken place.

In simple terms, Phase 1 and Phase 2 are located along the M-2 Motorway near the Capital Smart City Interchange, while Phase 3 is situated near Islamabad International Airport and is accessed through the Thalian Interchange and Cargo Road.
